Ramadan 2024 commencement in Saudi Arabia was declared after efforts to sight the new moon on Sunday, March 10, anticipating the start on Monday, March 11.

Officials at The Two Holy Mosques confirmed the sighting, announcing the beginning of Ramadan 1445/2024 on March 11, with Taraweeh Prayers following Isha Prayers.

Despite challenges, including dust storms and thick clouds, astronomical observatories in Saudi Arabia sought the elusive crescent.

The Umm al-Qura Calendar, used by neighboring states, had forecasted the start, while global organizations like ISNA and FCNA align with Saudi’s lunar calendar.
