A magistrate court in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, has dropped a defamation case against human rights activist Dele Farotimi.
The case was filed by the police after a complaint from lawyer Afe Babalola in December 2024.
Chief Magistrate Abayomi Adeosun ended the case after the police prosecutor, Samson Osobu, said Mr Babalola no longer wanted to continue with the case.

Farotimi’s lawyer, Kembi Adejare, confirmed they received a notice to stop the case, and the defence team agreed.
