The Federal Government has appointed Dr. Dele Anisere as the new Registrar of the Dental Therapists’ Registration Board of Nigeria, which operates under the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare.
His appointment, which began on May 5, 2025, will last for four years.
This was announced in a statement released on Thursday by Alaba Balogun, Deputy Director of Press and Public Relations at the ministry.
During the official presentation of the appointment letter in Abuja, the Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Iziaq Salako, praised the thorough selection process and expressed confidence in Anisere’s ability to lead the board effectively.
He stated the importance of tackling unlicensed practitioners and shutting down unapproved programmes in health institutions.
Salako added that regulating dental therapy practice is vital to prevent quackery and maintain professional standards.
He encouraged Anisere to use his experience and connections to strengthen and advance the profession across the country.
