Fresh Update Emerges On Fubara’s Next Move After Meeting With Tinubu

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, is set to defect from the opposition PDP to the ruling APC after a crucial meeting with President Bola Tinubu in London.

According to the Nigerian lawyers, the governor who was suspended from office on March 18, 2025, will make significant political concessions to facilitate his return to office earlier than expected.

Fubara’s defection is seen as a strategic move to strengthen President Tinubu’s influence in Rivers State, with insiders revealing that Fubara will agree to compromises that could expedite the lifting of his suspension.

The decision comes after weeks of uncertainty about his political future and ongoing tensions with his former mentor, Nyesom Wike, now Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.

The meeting with President Tinubu also addressed the strained relationship between Fubara and Wike, who was notably absent from the discussions.

While the details of the agreement remain under wraps, Fubara’s return to office could happen before September.
