Late Tuesday night, armed bandits stormed the home of Alhaji Abdullahi Kpotun, a businessman and ward leader of the PDP in Lile village, Patigi LGA, Kwara State.
Kpotun and his son were shot and killed during what appeared to be an attempted abduction.
The attackers didn’t stop there, they reportedly raided another household nearby and killed at least one more person, according to a source who spoke to SaharaReporters .
Efforts to reach the Kwara State Police Command for confirmation have failed, as their spokesperson, Ejire‑Adeyemi Adetoun, did not respond to calls or messages.
This tragedy comes just weeks after coordinated attacks on June 3 in Patigi and neighboring Ndanaku, also in Kwara North, where two people including a local pharmacy owner were killed during evening gunfire after Muslim Ishai prayers .
