Guinness World Records (GWR) has publicly reacted to Hilda Baci’s attempt to set a new world record for the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice.
In a post shared on its official X handle on Friday, the organisation wrote:
“What’s cookin’? Best of luck to @hildabacicooks who’s attempting a new record for the largest serving of Nigerian style jollof rice today.”

The message came as Baci, in partnership with seasoning brand Gino, hosted the World Jollof Festival at Eko Hotels & Suites, Lagos.
The event featured a custom-made pot measuring about six metres in diameter, with a volume of over 22,000 litres.
According to organisers, more than 20,000 people registered to attend the festival, which combined the record attempt with live performances, cultural displays, and food exhibitions.
Security personnel and volunteers managed the large crowd as attendees watched the cooking process unfold.
Baci, who first gained international recognition in 2023 with her Guinness World Record cook-a-thon, is seeking to add another title to her name with the jollof attempt.
The record bid has sparked excitement online, with Guinness’ lighthearted message further amplifying global attention on Nigeria’s most famous dish.
