I didn’t give any student $100 – UI Lecturer denies doing giveaway after ASUU strike

A lecturer at the University of Ibadan identified as Dr. Bisi Olawuyi has refuted claims that he surprised students with $100 dollar bills as gifts for attending his first class after the ASUU strike.

A twitter user @peter_pentane had reported that the lecturer gave out the 100 dollar bills to 10 lucky students.

He wrote:

“Omo, one lecturer for art in University of Ibadan give 10 students who attended his first class 100 dollar each.”

The lecturer has now come out to refute the claims as he said that he did not gave any money to his students.

Pictures of the dollar notes he had supposedly given them went viral, as students trooped to the lecturer’s page in droves to solicit for theirs.

Dr Bisi wrote:

“My attention has been drawn to a tweet circulating that I gave $100 each to 10 students. This is not in any way true. Please kindly disregard. Thank you.”
