A young man has taken his own life after climbing a high tension pole in Kasoa, Ghana, citing the bad economy as a reason for his action.
In a video seen by Dockaysworld, the man identified as Kofi Kakra, a 24-year-old bus conductor (trotro mate), could be seen climbing up the mast steadily despite attempts by others on the ground to follow and stop him.
He made his way to the top as the pleas continued with some bystanders getting annoyed and egging him on.

According to the witnesses, he’d complained about being tired of life and the economic situation of things in Ghana as he confessed that he couldn’t handle it all anymore.
The exact location of the incident was the high voltage transmission pylon at Kasoa Galilea, located after the Kasoa toll booth on the way from Weija to Kasoa in the Ga South District of Greater Accra.
The deceased has been taken to the morgue by Police.

@Dulcy4Anna says “They should have called ECG to turn the power off simple. But they failed”
@NagyaMensah “Yeahh that could have helped.”
@faasare says “Other people’s lives also depend on electricity. It’s not simple like that”
@NagyaMensah2h says “I get it but why did they rush there then?Because they made it look like they were there to help.”
@idanbarnes says “The Nigerian dude had the effrontery tc say “fucken Ghanaian man” on our own land? Lol @. At least the police could have called ECG to put the power off”
@sirslybabs says “Am sorry that is improbable. That’s not ECG lines but Gridco and other lives may be dependent on that too. Shutting that line off may render most part of the nation off depending on how far the line goes. That’s 162000 volts he stepped on.”
@1ba_sina says “ Elsewhere the police will try to convince him to come down”
@OluwaDoubleJoe says “It never works. They can only distract him while someone tries to go behind and save him. But in this case, you can’t send someone up a power station. Stop watching too many movies.”
