Jeff Bezos’ Wife MacKenzie to become 3rd richest woman in the world after $35B divorce settlement

Mackenzie Scott, the wife of the world’s richest man, Jeff Bezos is set to become the 3rd richest woman in the world after a $35B divorce settlement with her husband. 

Bezos who is the founder and chief executive of Amazon, announced on Thursday that he would transfer roughly 4% of the company’s stock to his wife, MacKenzie, most likely by early July. The couple are in the process of finalizing their divorce.

Jeff Bezos will remain the world’s richest person, with a net worth above $110 billion, per early Thursday afternoon stock prices. Bill Gates is the world’s second-wealthiest individual, boasting an estimated $99.5 billion fortune.

MacKenzie wrote on Twitter, 

“Grateful to have finished the process of dissolving my marriage with Jeff..Happy to be giving [Jeff] all of my interests in the Washington Post and Blue Origin, and 75% of our Amazon stock plus voting control of my shares to support his continued contributions with the teams of these incredible companies.“

Jeff Bezos also made a post on twitter concerning the divorce thanking his friends and family for their support and also praising his soon to be ex-wife.

The couple announced their divorce sometime January while Jeff was exposed to be cheating with married TV host, Lauren Sanchez.
