Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has disclosed that key figures, including President Bola Tinubu and the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, are making secret efforts to ensure the reinstatement of Siminalayi Fubara as the governor of Rivers State.
Tompolo, the chairman of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, shared this information during an interview with Arise TV on Saturday.
His company is responsible for overseeing oil pipeline surveillance and combating crude oil theft across Rivers State and the Niger Delta.
In March, President Tinubu declared a state of emergency in Rivers State, suspending Governor Fubara, his deputy Ngozi Odu, and all members of the state assembly for an initial six-month period.
As part of the emergency measures, retired Vice-Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas was appointed as the sole administrator of the state.
This led to widespread protests from citizens demanding the restoration of normal governance.
Tompolo expressed confidence that Fubara would soon return to office.
He referred to the ongoing situation between Fubara and Wike as a conflict between “a boy and his boss,” and said that President Tinubu is committed to protecting democracy.
He assured that all involved parties are working tirelessly behind the scenes to resolve the issue and reinstate Fubara.
It has also emerged that Fubara secretly met with President Tinubu in London earlier in April to seek a solution to the ongoing crisis.
