Suspended senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has reacted to accusations made by US-based activist Dr. Sandra Duru, who claimed there was a plot to frame Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
Duru, who is known online as Prof. Mgbeke, had gone live on Facebook for over an hour, accusing Akpoti-Uduaghan of offering her N200 million to create damaging allegations against Akpabio.
She claimed the senator approached her after a sexual harassment petition against Akpabio failed, proposing a new strategy to involve UK agencies and the United Nations. Duru said Akpoti-Uduaghan pushed her to accuse the Senate President of murder and organ harvesting, promising that if the plan worked, she would be rewarded with a ministerial post or the Kogi governorship.
Duru further stated that she refused the offer, asking Akpoti-Uduaghan for proof or an autopsy report, but none was provided.
She claimed to have handed over chat records, phone logs, and audio files to US authorities and Nigerian police for investigation.
In response, Akpoti-Uduaghan firmly denied the accusations, describing the recorded conversations as fake and claiming they were part of a plan to carry out Akpabio’s agenda.
She maintained that the negative words reportedly used against other public figures and Nigerian groups were not from her and promised to address the matter fully soon.
