Minister reveals who Tinubu will hand over power to

The Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory, Mariya Mahmud, has said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will hand over power to another candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) after completing his tenure in 2031.

Mahmud made the statement on Monday in Kano during the launch of the City Boy Movement (CBM), a political support group established to mobilize young Nigerians and women for Tinubu’s re-election in the 2027 presidential election.

The minister told supporters at the event that the APC would retain the presidency until the end of Tinubu’s tenure.

“There is no vacancy in the Villa till 2031,” she said.

Mahmud said the City Boy Movement had an important role to play in taking the achievements and policies of the Tinubu administration to Nigerians across the country.

She said the large population of young Nigerians made their participation crucial to any political campaign seeking to achieve national support.

According to her, the movement was created to bring young people and other supporters together to explain the policies of the Tinubu administration to Nigerians at the grassroots.

The minister also cited some programmes of the Federal Government as reasons for Nigerians to support Tinubu for another term.

She mentioned developments in the Federal Capital Territory and the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), which provides loans to eligible students.

Mahmud said the performance of the administration would be assessed by Nigerians when they return to the polls in 2027.
