Nigerian Officer Defends Against Knife-Wielding Attacker in Ilọrin

Gunshots rang out in Oke-Kura, Ilọrin, Kwara State capital, on Friday when an unidentified man, believed to be mentally unstable, attacked a Nigerian Correctional Services staff member named Kenny with a knife.

The incident caused panic, and the attacker, wearing a yellow hoodie, also damaged windscreens of tricycles, vehicles, and a prison vehicle.

Despite sustaining injuries, Kenny bravely confronted the assailant, preventing a potential disaster.

The attacker, shouting about the king’s instructions, was eventually subdued by Kenny and colleagues, taken to ‘C’ Division Oja-Oba, while Kenny received medical attention for head and arm injuries.
