The Nigeria Police Force has suspended Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Abduyari Shuaya’u Lafia effective January 9, 2025, pending an inquiry by the Force Disciplinary Committee (FDC).
In a wireless message issued by the Force Secretary, the officer was instructed to strictly adhere to suspension protocols.
The Police Service Commission (POLSCOM), in a letter dated January 9, 2025, authorized the suspension in line with PSR 100406, 2021 (as amended).
The directive, which also mandates the immediate cessation of his salary, emphasized the importance of compliance while investigations proceed.
AIG Lafia, who assumed office in February 2023 as head of the Force Intelligence Bureau at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, now faces scrutiny as the case unfolds.
