The protest, which started from NITEL junction at Wuse 2, was obstructed by armed policemen who have cordoned the road heading to the national assembly and three arms zone.

Shots were reportedly fired at the protesters as they proceeded toward the Eagle Square.

A reporter was said to be amongst those fired but we could not independently confirm this as at press release.

Most of the streets have been deserted as many residents ran to safety.

Recall, the first clash had occurred when Shiites had invaded the National Assembly which resulted in injuries and death of an officer.
