Olisa Metuh, the former spokesman of the PDP, has been sentenced to 39 years in prison after being found guilty of money laundering earlier today.
Okon Abang, judge of a federal high court Abuja, handed down the sentence on Tuesday.
Metuh had accepted N400 million Naira which was meant for fighting the war against Boko Haram illegally under the auspices of the national security adviser.

On counts one and two, Metuh bagged seven years each, on count three, five years; count four, seven years; counts five and six, three years each and he got seven years for count 7.
The convicted politician would however only spend 7 years in prison as the judge held that all the years are to run concurrently.
The judge decried that dissipating public funds has eaten so deep into the society, requiring drastic action that would lead to national rebirth.
