Renowned Nigerian filmmaker, Charles Grandsville is dead, Dockaysworld can confirm.

The producer died on Thursday, September 21, following a prolonged battle with a serious illness.

Before his untimely demise, Charles Grandsville received prestigious recognition from Highstone International University, located in California, United States.

He was among a select group of exceptional Africans chosen to be awarded an honorary doctorate degree by the institution.

This honor was part of the university’s commitment to promoting excellence in leadership and acknowledging the significant contributions made by distinguished individuals to the betterment of the world.

Notably, this marks a historic moment, as it’s possibly the first time that a prominent figure from Nigeria’s Nollywood film industry has received such a distinguished honor from Highstone International University.

In addition to this accolade, Charles Grandsville had recently been appointed as the International Peace and Governance Council’s (IPGC) Special Envoy to the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

This prestigious appointment granted him the authority and privileges associated with serving as the IPGC ambassador for Investment Cooperation in Africa, emphasizing his commitment to promoting peace and development on the continent.

Charles Grandsville, celebrated for his directorial work on movies like “Locked” and “30 Pieces of Silver,” had previously received multiple awards and recognitions.
