Popular Nigerian Influencer Locked Up While Leading VDM Protest (VIDEO)

Popular Nigerian influencer Jojooflele has been locked down by security forces after leading a protest in Abuja demanding the release of fellow activist and social media personality, VeryDarkMan (real name Martins Vincent Otse).

The peaceful demonstration, which took place in the Wuse area, quickly drew attention as dozens of supporters joined Jojooflele in calling for justice and transparency regarding VeryDarkMan’s recent arrest by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The protest followed the controversial arrest of VeryDarkMan on May 2, 2025, at a GTBank branch in Abuja.

He had accompanied his mother to the bank to resolve unauthorised deductions from her account, which she claimed were labelled as “loan repayments” for a loan she never took.

VDM had posted screenshots of the debit alerts online, drawing widespread attention before his sudden detention by EFCC operatives.

His legal representative, Deji Adeyanju, has described the arrest as baseless and politically motivated, alleging that VDM is being punished for his bold stance against corruption and injustice.
