New reports have shown that the real reason the helicopter landed in the middle of the Benin-Ore highway during heavy traffic some days ago, was to pick up someone who had suffered a stroke.
Contrary to earlier reports that the helicopter had landed on the highway to pick up a billionaire who had been stuck in a four-hour long traffic jam, the helicopter operator says it is normal to respond to emergency calls.
A representative of Tropical Arctic Logistics, Femi Adeniji, made it known to BBC that it was regular for their company to send help in emergencies, adding that they had done this about 6 times in the last two months.
According to him, the reports circulating that an unknown billionaire had simply called the helicopter to get himself out of the heavy traffic was utterly false.
Instead he said that the man had been suffering from high blood pressure and his driver had panicked. A doctor who was also stuck in the traffic was helping the man and the helicopter was called.
