Sam Larry lands in police custody over Mohbad’s death

The Lagos State Police have confirmed the arrest and detention of embattled Lagos socialite, Sam Larry.

The police said Larry is currently assisting in the ongoing investigation into the tragic death of 27-year-old singer and songwriter, Promise Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, known as Mohbad.

Sam Larry’s arrest took place at the Lagos airport upon his return to Nigeria, amidst allegations linking him to the untimely death of Mohbad.

Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, made this announcement on X (formerly known as Twitter) late Thursday night.

This development follows a recent outcry on social media after videos surfaced depicting Sam Larry and others involved in a confrontation with the late singer Mohbad.

In one such video, Mohbad and Zlatan were on a music video set when individuals purportedly connected to Naira Marley entered the scene, causing Mohbad to flee in fear.

The distressing video sparked outrage on social media platforms, leading to a barrage of criticism directed at Sam Larry for his alleged involvement in bullying and threatening the late singer.

Sam Larry’s ally, Naira Marley has also promised to return to Nigeria and turn himself to the police only if his safety will be guaranteed.
