Security personnel at the National Assembly in Abuja on Tuesday blocked Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan from entering the premises.
The Kogi Central lawmaker, who is currently under suspension, arrived at the gate with well-known activist Aisha Yesufu, rights campaigner Mama P, activist Randy, and a crowd of supporters.
Trouble began when the security officers at the entrance refused to let Natasha and her team in.
Aisha Yesufu stepped forward to question the officers, asking why a public place like the National Assembly was being closed off to elected representatives and citizens.
Despite her protest, the officers stood their ground.
Tension rose as some of Natasha’s supporters started shouting and tried to push their way into the complex.
They later marched toward the main building while singing songs in support of the senator.
Security officials maintained their stance throughout the incident, and Natasha was not allowed to enter the premises.
