Tinubu approves creation of new Federal University


President Bola Tinubu has approved the creation of a Federal University in Southern Kaduna, Kaduna State.

This move aims to expand educational opportunities in the Northwest region.

The announcement was made by Vice-President Kashim Shettima during a condolence visit to Bishop Matthew Kukah in Kaduna State.

The visit followed the passing of Kukah’s brother, Yohanna, the Agwom Akulu of Ikulu Chiefdom in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area.

During the visit, Shettima mentioned ongoing efforts to establish a Federal Medical Centre in Kafanchan, also in Kaduna.

Additionally, he acknowledged the appointment of General Christopher Musa as Chief of Defence Staff, describing it as part of broader efforts to address the region’s security needs.

Shettima praised Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani for promoting inclusive governance and reiterated that the Federal Government would collaborate with the state to improve infrastructure, particularly roads, in Southern Kaduna.
