Tinubu departs Nigeria

President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to leave Abuja on Thursday, May 23, to travel to N’Djamena, the Republic of Chad, in order to participate in the swearing-in ceremony of President Mahamat Déby.

Deby won the closely watched presidential election after garnering more than 61 percent of the vote, according to the numbers released on.

This eliminated the need for a run-off with his closest rival, Prime Minister Succes Masra, who received 18.5 percent.

The victory allows Deby to hold onto the presidency in the central African country with a voter mandate.
