VP Shettima Cancels trip to US over Plane Failure

Vice President Kashim Shettima, who was set to attend the 2024 US-Africa Business Summit in Dallas, Texas. on behalf of the President, has been forced to return after encountering technical issues with his aircraft.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, has been designated to represent President Bola Tinubu in his stead.

The aircraft issues prompted a change in plans based on advice from the Presidential Air Fleet.

In a statement released by his media aide, Stanley Nkwocha, on Monday, it was announced that Vice President Shettima will focus on fulfilling other national responsibilities within the country.

The US-Africa Business Summit, a prominent gathering to be held at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center, will draw political and business leaders from various African nations, the United States, and beyond. The event’s agenda includes significant discussions, networking opportunities, and plenary sessions.

The primary objective of the US-Africa Business Summit is to promote economic collaboration and identify investment prospects between the United States and African countries.
