A young Nigerian hawker has been left in tears after a customer paid him with a 500 note which the government has pronounced illegal.
The young boy was unaware of the policy and had found out when he’d tried to use the money himself.
He stated that the customer had given him 500 naira for 200 naira worth of his wares and told him to keep the change.
