‘I don’t have up to 20million in my account’ – El Rufai, as group contribute purchase his Governorship form

The governor of kaduna state, Gov. Nasir El-Rufai while receiving the APC governorship nomination form which was  purchased for him by a group of traders/workers in his state earlier today,  revealed that he did not have enough money to buy his form.

According to El-rufai, when he received the news that the APC governorship nomination form was to be purchased at N22.5 million, he contemplated on selling his house so as to raise money to buy the form as he did not have up to N20 million in his account.

Speaking while receiving the form in his office from the group, Governor El-Rufai said;

“When the party fixed the money for the form, I could remember that during the meeting, the President buhari was the first person to raise his hands and said he does not have N50m. Infact, we the governors started planning on how we would help Mr president raise the money for his form.

“We concluded that each governor will contribute N2 million each for the president, after which we travelled to China, it was in China I told the president that some group have purchased the form for him.

While expressing gratitude he further  added that he didn’t have 20 million in his accont and that the only way he would have been able to raise the money was to sell his house.

“I don’t have N20 million also to buy my form. The money I have in the bank is not close to that amount. I have only one account in GT Bank. Except I sell my house that is when i will be able to raise that kind of amount.
