An Abuja Federal High Court has granted former Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, SAN, and his son, Abdulaziz, N200 million bail each over alleged terrorism financing and illegal firearms possession.
The charge was filed by the Department of State Services.
In a ruling on Friday, Justice Joyce Abdulmalik ordered that the defendants be remanded in Kuje Prison pending the perfection of their bail conditions.
The judge directed that each defendant produce two sureties, one of whom must own landed property in either Maitama or Asokoro, Abuja.
She ordered that the property title be deposited with the deputy chief registrar of the court alongside valid international passports. The sureties are also to depose to affidavits of means and submit two recent passport photographs.
Malami and his son were further ordered to submit their international passports and recent passport photographs to the court.
The court fixed March 4 for commencement of trial.
The DSS had arraigned the duo on a five-count charge bordering on terrorism financing and illegal possession of firearms.
