Court takes action on Wike son
The Federal Capital Territory High Court sitting in Maitama has directed Jordan Wike, son of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, to present his American international passport before the court.
According to Daily Independent, Justice Sylvanus Oriji issued the order on Tuesday during proceedings in a case filed against Jordan by Safwan Garba GY and GY Global Oil and Gas Nigeria Ltd.
The case, marked CV/008/2026, is connected to a dispute over an alleged $2.1 million payment for assistance in securing land in Abuja.
The claimants told the court that they met Jordan in London and later established a relationship with him.
They said they subsequently met him in Abuja and sought his help in obtaining land within the Federal Capital Territory.
According to their case, Jordan allegedly offered to assist them in securing 30 hectares of land in Katampe and another 30 hectares in Guzape.
The claimants alleged that Jordan requested $2.1 million as payment for the proposed land arrangements.
They alleged that $2 million was intended for his father, while the remaining $100,000 was for Jordan.
They further claimed that the money was handed over on September 26, 2025, in the presence of Adamu Sani, Aliyu Sarki and Sai Wani.
They said Jordan was accompanied by Onor Sandy at the time.
The claimants alleged that after the payment was made, the land arrangement did not take place and the money was not returned.
They also claimed that they later struggled to reach Jordan.
Jordan, however, has denied the allegations and maintained his position in his statement on oath adopted before the court.
He was represented by Senior Advocate of Nigeria Ogwu Onoja during the proceedings, where some documents were also presented through him.
During cross-examination by the claimants’ lawyer, Hamza Dantani, Jordan was questioned about the allegations and documents presented in the case. He denied knowledge of the claims put to him by the lawyer.
Dantani also asked the court to direct Jordan to write his full name and signature five times each on a plain sheet of paper. The defence did not object to the request, and the judge granted the application.
The issue of Jordan’s whereabouts on September 26, 2025, later became central to the proceedings.
When asked where he was on the date the claimants alleged the money was delivered, Jordan told the court that he was outside Nigeria.
He was then asked which passport he used to leave the country. Jordan said he travelled with his American international passport and indicated that he could produce the document if the court required it.
Following the response, Dantani applied for an order requiring Jordan to bring the American passport before the court.
Justice Oriji granted the application and directed Jordan to produce the passport.
The court also adjourned the case until Wednesday for further proceedings as the hearing continues.
