Police arrest suspects with 14 bags of fake ballot papers

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) have arrested two persons for being in possession of 14 bags of fake specimen ballot papers in Kano state.

Confirming the arrest, DSP Abdullahi Haruna, the state Police Public Relations Officer, said the suspects were carrying 14 bags of the specimen ballot papers at the time of their arrest.

According to Haruna, they were arrested on Wednesday by some policemen attached to the Metro Area Command.

The suspects were said to have confessed to have come from Jigawa State, and claimed that the materials were for sensitisation and orientation.

Haruna added that investigations were still ongoing and that the case had been transferred to the state Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
