Just in: Senate begins probe of Senator Elisha Abbo over assault of lady in sex shop

The Senate President Ahmad Lawan has set up a committee to probe the physical assault of a lady by a member of the house, Senator Elias Abbo at a sex shop in Abuja.

A video of the Senator brutally attacking the nursing mother went viral yesterday and there has since been widespread outcry for justice to be done.

During plenary with the members of the panel this morning, Lawan said the committee has two weeks to submit it’s report.

The committee will be headed by Senator Sam Egwu. Other members include Senators Oluremi Tinubu,  Mathew Urhoghide, Stella Oduah, Dauda Aliu Jika,  Sani Musa,  and Danladi Sankara.

Senator Abbo who has since reacted to the viral video claimed that he was only defending his sister who had been brutalized in the shop.

Meanwhile, celebrities like MI Abaga, Banky W, Don Jazzy and many more have called for his prosecution and removal from office.
