Bet9ja, one of the biggest sports betting platforms in Nigeria has reportedly lost its official website after their purchase expired and they forgot to renew it.
Fortune had smiled on opportunists, one of whom was a web designer who swiftly bought the domain out from under the previous owners.
This led to a shutdown of the popular site. A Facebook user Mikhael Nice came online to share the story with screenshots of the website homepage,

He wrote:
“Bet9ja expired and they didn’t know. Domain went straight to the market, the dude purchased it and instead bet9ja went and registered bet9ja2.”
“To cut the long story short, they have now repurchased the domain from the dude, redirecting it to bet9ja2.”
“The dude is now a millionaire and the management may be sacked”.
