Alleged Uber driver who picked up Italian man infected with Coronavirus cries out to the authorities

A man claiming to be the Uber driver who picked up the Italian man who is Nigeria’s first case of the Coronavirus disease has spoken out.

The man who went on twitter to alert the authorities of his contact with the infected Italian also dropped his phone number so he could be reached easily.

He added that he’d not only picked up the man but had also talked and even eaten with him in the course of the street.

He wrote:

I had contact with Italian citizen the day before yesterday. Am an uber driver i picked him at airport. We talk,gist and laugh together. We even dine together… My name is olugbenga bodunrin. 08136464040

Meanwhile, others have come out to label the man a liar and a clout chaser who is in search of some attention.

They claimed that when the number was called, the man had laughed at the situation and said that he was only joking.
