Top PDP Chieftain Dumps Party

Adnan Mukhtar Adam, a former candidate for the Kano State House of Assembly, has announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing concerns over the party’s increasing alignment with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a letter dated July 3, 2025, and addressed to the PDP Chairman in Tudun Wada Ward, Nassarawa Local Government, Adnan expressed his disappointment with the party’s leadership.

He said the PDP no longer acts as a credible opposition and has, instead, grown too close to the APC at various levels.

According to Adnan, the PDP has failed to provide Nigerians with a strong alternative and clear direction.

He described the party’s actions as a betrayal of the trust of many supporters and lamented the persistent internal crises within the PDP.

Adnan, who was actively involved in the party’s youth activities and once contested under its banner, stated that he would now be joining a new coalition focused on addressing Nigeria’s economic and social challenges.
