Veteran musician and activist, Charles Chukwuemeka Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has announced that he is seeking a suitable wife for his 46-year-old son.
The entertainer made the disclosure on Friday in a post shared on his X and Instagram pages, where he also outlined the qualifications expected from prospective partners.
According to Charly Boy, his son, who holds a master’s degree and is 5ft 11ins tall, was previously married but divorced. He noted that the failed marriage seems to have left his son “afraid of women.”

“My people, I still dey look for wife for dis my son. E don marry once, divorce. Now, e be like say e dey fear woman,” he wrote.
He further stated that he is looking for a woman “from a good home with humble beginnings” and stressed that “authentic graduates” should apply.
“Biko, if you’re from a good home with humble beginnings, DM me. He is coming next month. He is a master’s degree holder, age 46, 5ft 11ins, very humble. If you’re not an authentic graduate don’t bother. I need to tie him to Nigeria,” he added.
Charly Boy also revealed that his son, whom he described as “very humble,” will return to Nigeria next month.
The announcement has generated mixed reactions online, with some users commending the veteran singer’s openness, while others questioned why a man of 46 would rely on his father to find him a wife.
