Although her illness was not disclosed to the public, her passing was mourned by many across the state.

Months later, a video featuring her daughter Jane surfaced online, causing concern.

In the video, Jane tearfully alleged that her mother had been sacrificed, and expressed fear for her own safety and that of her daughter.

The disturbing nature of the video led to renewed discussions online, especially since Jane holds a government position as the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Health, Safety, and Environment.

In the video, she pleaded with her father to respond to her before she made her concerns public.

She also referred to past family losses, including her younger brother, as she spoke about the pain and trauma they had experienced.

Governor Eno addressed the issue publicly during an event in Uyo, held in honour of former Deputy Governor Obong Nsima Ekere’s birthday.

According to him, the video was recorded in 2024, shortly after his wife’s death, during a time of grief when emotions were high.

He dismissed the renewed circulation of the clip as a distraction meant to stir controversy and create division within his family.

He explained that Jane and her husband were present at the gathering, and stressed that their family was still united despite what people may believe.

He stated that the emotional reaction seen in the video was expected from someone who had just lost a parent and was trying to deal with the situation.

Governor Eno pointed out that the timing of the video’s resurfacing was not accidental.

He linked it to political motives, especially as the state marks two years of his administration.

He expressed disappointment that such a painful memory was being used for political purposes and urged the public to allow his family to heal.

He assured everyone that he remained committed to his duties as governor and would not allow personal attacks to distract him.

He also appealed to the public to stop sharing content that could bring back painful memories for his children.

According to him, the loss of his wife is still deeply felt, and he hopes no one else ever goes through such pain.
