Nasiru Abdullahi, also known as Chile Maidoki, an alleged notorious criminal who was recently declared wanted by the Kano police command, has joined the Nigeria Police Force as a police constabulary.

Pictures that are currently trending on social media show Abdullahi alongside a senior police officer at one of the Police Colleges and Training Schools, where he is among 10,000 police constabularies undergoing a six-month training program aimed at enhancing community policing nationwide.

This move comes after Abdullahi and two other notorious criminals were declared wanted by the Kano command in August, with a bounty of N100,000 placed on each of them.

However, Abdullahi decided to surrender himself to the Bompai headquarters of the command shortly after the declaration.

According to Abdullahi Kiyawa, the police spokesperson in Kano, Abdullahi explained that he had resorted to sleeping at a burial ground yard in Kano City to evade detection by security personnel during his time on the run.

The police said Abdullahi expressed his willingness to work with the force to promote sustainable peace and development in the state and appealed to both the police and the public for forgiveness.

The police added that he is not to be arrested or stigmatized by members of the public.

The other two wanted criminals, Abba Burakita of Dorayi Quarters and Hantar Daba of Kwanar Disu, remain at large, with a N100,000 bounty on each for information leading to their arrests.

The police had called on potential informants to contact the nearest police station with credible information about their whereabouts.
