ASUU STRIKE: Frustration for students as lecturers reportedly walk out of meeting with FG

ASUU continued their strike action as the lecturers walked out of another meeting with the FG this evening.

It was gathered that the lecturers got to the venue at the stipulated time of 5:00 pm but the minister of labour, Chris Ngige, came an hour later leading the Government delegation. 

Meanwhile the minster of education, Adamu Adamu, was not present at the time the meeting commenced. 

The strike has been on since November 4th and seems set to continue for quite some time.

According to Channels Tv, unlike previous meetings which ended inconclusively, ASUU National President, Professor Biodun Ogunyemi, and other leaders of the union walked out of the meeting.

However, in an interview with newsmen after the meeting, Minister of Labour, Chris Ngige denied reports of lecturers storming out of the meeting.

When asked the outcome of the meeting, the labour minister said negotiations were still on and that the government is keen to seeing that issues are resolved before Christmas to enable students return to classes.

With the strike action and failed meetings with the government, nigerian students but can wonder what the future hold for them.
