Atiku speaks on dumping ADC for NDC
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has denied reports that he is planning to leave his current party, African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the Nigeria Democratic Congress.
In a statement released on Monday, Atiku’s media aide, Phrank Shaibu, said the reports were false and should be ignored. He made it clear that there had been no meetings or discussions about any move to another party.
The statement also dismissed claims that Atiku had been in contact with party officials over a possible defection, describing the reports as misleading and recycled information meant to shift attention away from the country’s current problems.
Atiku, according to the statement, is still focused on the goals of the African Democratic Congress and remains part of its efforts ahead of future political plans. The message added that he is not considering any change of party and will continue working with the ADC without interruption.
The statement read, “This is FAKE NEWS. No defection. No secret talks. No shadowy meetings. No political theatrics. Just another clumsy, recycled falsehood manufactured to distract Nigerians from the grinding realities of hardship, insecurity, and a floundering economy. But Nigerians are wiser now. You cannot bury the truth beneath a mountain of propaganda.
