Desmond Elliott withdraws from APC Lagos Assembly primaries
Lawmaker Desmond Elliot has officially withdrawn from the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for Surulere Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly.
The actor-turned-politician announced his withdrawal on the day of the party’s primary election, alleging intimidation and obstruction during the process.
According to him, his supporters and political structure were prevented from operating freely across different zones ahead of the exercise.
Speaking on the development, Elliot said the situation made it impossible for him to continue in the race, leading to his decision to step aside from the contest.
“In all zones, they have been intimidating and stopping us. I want to officially announce my withdrawal from this particular race”, he said.
