DStv, Gotv reduce subscription fee after losing subscribers

DStv and GOtv, have reportedly returned to its previous subscription prices after a court order deemed its recent price hikes unjustified.

Recall that MultiChoice, owner of the cable tv had increased subscription prices in response to high inflation and the devaluation of the naira in Nigeria.

However, the court ruled against this increase, prompting the company to lower its prices back to the original rates.

Reports indicate that the price hike had a significant impact on MultiChoice’s subscriber base in Nigeria, with over a million subscribers lost due to the higher costs.
