FG announces major update in ongoing CDCFIB recruitment exercise

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board has stated that applicants taking part in the medical screening for its 2025 recruitment exercise are not required to follow any special dress code.

The Board explained this in a public notice released by its Head of Press, Mrs Okeh Juliet.

It said candidates should simply appear in normal and decent clothing and should ignore any message asking them to wear a specific outfit for the exercise.

According to the Board, the medical screening for shortlisted candidates into the Nigeria Correctional Service, Nigeria Immigration Service, Federal Fire Service and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps will begin on June 22, 2026.

Before the screening, candidates are expected to go through a verification stage between June 15 and June 20, where they will confirm their details and choose their preferred date and venue through the recruitment portal.

The Board also made it clear that applicants should not bring their certificates or other documents to the screening centres.

It explained that document checking will not take place during the medical exercise.

It further warned applicants to ignore any instructions that ask them to come with credentials or follow a fixed dress code, saying only information shared through official channels should be trusted.

The recruitment process has drawn large interest across the country, with more than 1.9 million people said to have applied.

After the initial stage, about 1.12 million candidates moved on to the Computer-Based Test held in November 2025, while others were later selected for the medical screening stage.
