Former Nigerian governor dies

The first elected Governor of Yobe State, Bukar Abba Ibrahim is dead.


Former Governor of Yobe State, Senator Bukar Abba Ibrahim is dead.

It was gathered that the former governor died on Sunday while receiving treatment for a protracted illness in Saudi Arabia.

It was equally gathered that Ibrahim would be buried in Saudi Arabia.

Ibrahim, who was equally a former Senator representing Yobe East, died at the age of 75 years.

ukar Abba Ibrahim was born in 1949 and became governor of Yobe State from May 29, 1999, to May 29, 2007.

He was first elected governor in January 1992 but served a brief tenure until 1993 when the Third Republic was aborted by Babaginda.

He is survived by his family and close friends.
