Just in: US Court Sentences Hushpuppi to 11 year jail term, to pay victims N762M


A United States District Court for the Central District of California has sentenced socialite Ramon Abass Olorunwa aka Hushpuppi to just over 11 years in prison.

United States District Judge Otis D. Wright II, gave the sentencing of 11 years and three months precisely.

The judge ordered Hushpuppi to pay $1,732,841 (N 762,034,158.16) restitution to two fraud victims.

Hushpuppi pleaded guilty in April 2021 to one count of conspiracy to engage in money laundering.

He was arrested in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, in June 2020 and has remained in U.S federal custody since his expulsion from the UAE.

Recall Dockaysworld reported that Hushpuppi had been arrested in Dubai following a thorough investigation which eventually led to his extradition to the United states.

He was brought in over allegations of an extensive fraud scheme that robbed victims of their money in the U.S, Qatar, the United Kingdom, and other places.

He was charged with fraud and money laundering, multiple counts of hacking, impersonation, scamming, banking fraud, and identity theft.

Hushpuppi who had pleaded guilty to the charges, however wrote a letter to the judge begging for leniency as he promised to return the money he stole to his victims.
