Kidnapped Catholic Priest Regains Freedom

The Catholic Diocese of Kafanchan has announced that Rev. Fr Ibrahim Amos, who was kidnapped by bandits early Thursday morning from his home, has been released.

Fr Amos, who serves as the parish priest of St Gerald Quasi Parish in Kurmin Risga, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, returned safely around 10 p.m. that same day.

In a statement, Rev. Fr Jacob Shanet, the Chancellor of the Diocese, expressed gratitude to the security agencies and the public for their prayers and support during the ordeal.

He thanked everyone for standing by them during what he described as a dark and terrible time, and prayed that the Blessed Virgin Mary and all the angels would continue to intercede for those still in captivity, hoping they too would return safely to their loved ones.
