Let’s build our institutions so others don’t give us awards backstage – Rema tells Governor Obaseki [video]

Nigerian musician Rema has met with Edo state Governor Godwin Obaseki and urged him to support local institutions.

Award winning Nigerian act Divine Ikubor popularly known as Rema, has advised the Governor of his state of origin, Godwin Obaseki, to ensure local institutions are built and strengthened.

Rema who had an engagement with the Governor during his visit today, spoke of the disrespect Nigerians had to face outside the shores of the country occasionally.

He said that there was need to build institutions who could organize awards with global acclaim rather than the occasional issues abroad where Nigerians were made to collect accolades backstage.

Rema went on to say in a press conference after the meeting that he was in Edo state to carry out actions rather than to simply speak.
