Married woman with 3 children commits suicide


An unidentified Nigerian woman, grappling with depression amid the soaring cost of living, left her three children at Enugu Police Station before taking her own life by colliding with a moving vehicle.

Mrs. Nkechinyere Mbah, the wife of Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, has pledged to sponsor the children’s daily needs and education through her Custos Care Foundation.

During an unscheduled visit to Ogui Police Station, she announced a scholarship covering their education from nursery school to university.The eldest child, unable to provide details about their father or family, stated their father was lost.

The First Lady directed the immediate relocation of the children to a home, ensuring the state government’s support.

Addressing the media, Mrs. Mbah urged those facing depression to seek help and counseling, emphasizing the importance of raising awareness and offering support to prevent drastic decisions.

The economic challenges faced by many Nigerians, attributed to President Bola Tinubu’s policies, have heightened concerns about rising inflation and living costs.
