Lagos State Speaker, Mojisola Lasbat Meranda, arrived at the assembly complex to a warm reception from lawmakers who had earlier expressed their support by passing a vote of confidence in her.
As of the time of this report, Meranda had entered the chamber to begin the day’s plenary session.
Around 1:35 p.m., journalists were finally allowed access to the complex, while lawmakers gathered at the assembly garden for a strategic meeting ahead of the scheduled plenary later in the afternoon.
