Mr Ibu: “Use him for sacrifice” – reactions as Kanayo knocks Very Dark Man for criticizing Nollywood

Veteran Nollywood actor Kanayo Kanayo has knocked activist Martins Vincent Otse popularly known as Very Dark Man for his comments on actor John Okafor, known as Mr Ibu‘s, health issues.

Mr Ibu made an emotional plea for prayers as he battles an undisclosed illness that could potentially lead to the amputation of his legs.

This heartfelt request was shared after a video of his 63rd birthday celebration in an undisclosed Lagos hospital circulated on social media.

Very Dark Man expressed his disappointment and embarrassment at the situation, emphasizing the need for a structured support system for legendary figures in Nollywood.

He lamented that Nigerians don’t adequately value their entertainment icons and called for a scheme to assist Nollywood actors in need.

However, Very Dark Man’s comments received significant backlash, particularly from actor Kanayo Kanayo, who warned him against exploiting Mr Ibu’s health issues for attention.

Kanayo Kanayo stressed that both the Actors Guild of Nigeria and individuals were actively helping without seeking recognition, and using someone’s misfortune for personal gain was unscrupulous.

In response to the criticism, Very Dark Man defended his stance, stating that he spoke the truth and that Nollywood figures were targeting him because they felt guilty.
