Ned Nwoko reacts after losing APC Senatorial ticket to Okowa
Senator Ned Nwoko has reacted after former Delta State governor Ifeanyi Okowa reportedly defeated him in the All Progressives Congress (APC) Delta North senatorial primary.
Ifeanyi Okowa defeated him by a wide margin during the primary held on Monday. Nwoko received only three votes, while Okowa secured 4,462 votes in his ward.
In his response, Nwoko thanked supporters across Delta North for the strong turnout during the process.
He said people showed up in large numbers across different wards and local government areas, and he appreciated the level of support he received during the exercise.
He described the turnout as a clear sign of trust and confidence from his supporters. According to him, the backing he received reflects belief in the vision he has for the district and the future he wants to build with the people.
Nwoko also said that he is still waiting for the official announcement from the party’s national committee.
He added that the situation on ground already shows strong support in his favour and said he values the encouragement from his followers, which he says pushes him to remain committed to representing their interests.
