Popular media personality and religious critic Daddy Freeze, has chimed in on the assertion by Nollywood actor Yul Edochie about the scriptural backing of polygamy.
The veteran OAP while replying to Yul’s revelation that God had told him to become a polygamist said that he was right about the scriptures but that there was more to it.
He stated that according to the scriptures and tradition, the first wife had to approve of the polygamous home.

Freeze noted that this was where Yul had gone wrong as his first wife May had not agreed to the arrangement and had vehemently rejected it.
He wrote:
My brother there is nothing wrong with polygamy. It is scriptural like you noted.
Abraham, David and Solomon were all polygamists. Polygamy can’t stop you from being a man of God. However, the only issue is that May @mayyuledochie is NOT happy. Traditionally (with regards to Nigerian culture) and scripturally, the first wife must consent. May made it clear that she didn’t consent. This is my issue. Do have yourself a happy holiday.
